Cane Cult is a furniture and lifestyle brand that's inspired and heavily influenced by elements of Japanese and Scandinavian design intertwined with an Industrial London touch. Our mission is to create cult furniture, incorporate the zen principles in the form of design. To constantly evolve in the way we look at furniture and interior design using the timeless ‘Japandi’ aesthetic.

We sustainably source our rattan and are in the process of looking at efforts to contribute towards reforestation projects in Sri Lanka. We contribute a fair amounts of our profits to benefit the rattan producing communities who are highly talented. With the current generation moving away from this historically underpaid movement we would like to revive this dying art by contributing to shedding light on traditional weaving and rattan sculpting methods.

Our Jeanneret Collection is an aesthetic tribute to the original designs of the great Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret's Chandigarh vision. His was inspired whilst travelling in India to adapt this zeitgeist traditional rattan woven design which was popular at the time in Dehli.

Characterized by simple modernist shapes, distinct V-shaped constructions and cane woven detailing, our collection speaks to the demand for Jeanneret’s pieces and brings his famous designs into a contemporary context.

Japandi, as the name suggests, is a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian styles. It is influenced by the ancient Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, a way of life which values slow-living, contentment and simplicity, as well as the Scandinavian practice of hygge, which embraces comfort, cosiness and wellbeing. Japandi blends the smooth, modern lines of Scandinavian design with the sleek, functional, elegance of the Japanese aesthetic. It is minimalist yet welcoming, and is all about using neutral tones, lots of textures and natural materials. So far, this trend is standing the test of time. Here are our top tips for getting it right.ith Japanese's, Scandinavian, and even more traditional styles.
